Breens

n.

A sorely missed nightclub in Waterford that had many, many names such as the Banana Club, Olympus and Xanadu to name but a few. It was a two-storey, three dance floor establishment adorned with scantily clad sculptures of Roman deities. It could cater for every man and woman in Waterford, not to mention the children. It was world famous for its slow sets otherwise known as the erection section and de suppers (AKA slurry curry).

Hullo there. Would you like me to translate 'Breens' in use for you?

I purchased a few cans of Hoffman's at Tracey's, drank them behind the sheds on the Quay, then took my supper at Breens before kissing my young lady thoroughly during the slow dances.
