You're grand
Heard in Dublin
A term used to tell someone no, or that you are fine without something.
Mammy: "Would you like a cup of tea, son?" Son: "Thanks mammy, but you're grand." "Out of the razz with mates & one says he's feeling wrecked. You'd say to him 'You're grand, sure we'll only have a few more before we head home'."
Mother inquired whether I would like a cup of tea. The son replied that he was perfectly fine, thank you. When out with friends and one complains of feeling exhausted, one might tell him he is perfectly fine and that they will only have a few more drinks before heading home.
